Spanish Blackjack
The Spanish Blackjack is one of the variations of the traditional game. The goal of the game is the same as in the other variations: defeat the croupier by reaching 21 points without going over that number.
However, there are several peculiarities of the Spanish Blackjack that make it particularly original. It is played with 8 decks of cards. Each deck is composed of 48 cards instead of 52 like in the classic version of the game. The cards 10 have been removed, but be careful, differently from what you may think, this is not a disadvantage for players, who have many other advantages in this variation of blackjack...
Indeed, the game proposes players several moves and it is more flexible compared to the classic blackjack. Let’s see together what we are talking about...
Rules in Spanish Blackjack
- The Split is an important option in this variation of the game, since it can be used up to 3 times in total and maximum in 4 turns. The total of picture cards (which have a value of 10 points) and the Aces can be split and also re-split.
- Here it is possible to double down and re-double down whatever cards you have. That is true also for the Ace that have been split.
- You can leave the game in Spanish Blackjack, also late during the match, after you have double down. The move of leaving the game after you have doubled down is called “Double Down Rescue” and it generally allows the player to collect all of the bets placed.
- With the “bonus 21” you obtain 21 points with cards of the same value or the same colour, but also with a turn with 5 to 7 cards.
Other peculiarities
If the first card of the croupier is an Ace of a card with the value of 10, s/he check if there is a blackjack. If both the croupier and a player have got the blackjack, is the player the one who get it. Similarly, if the croupier gets 21 and the croupier too, the player is the one who win.
